Alliance Sign Dutch Center Shaquille Doorson

The Montréal Alliance announced is pleased to announce the signing of Dutch player Shaquille Doorson for the 2024 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). A 7’0” center, Doorson played four collegiate seasons with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the NCAA Division I. He also played the last six professional seasons in Europe.

 

Doorson played the 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons in the BNXT league, featuring Belgian and Dutch teams. The center averaged 7.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.0 block and 19.6 minutes per game last season. Doorson finished the 2021-22 season as the BNXT league leader in blocks per game.

 

The new Alliance player played the 2019-20 (Marin Peixe Galego) and 2020-21 (Melilla Ciudad Del Deporte) seasons in Spain, as well as the 2020-21 season in Estonia.

 

Doorson will join the team immediately and take part in the Alliance’s training camp at the Verdun Auditorium.

 

The Montréal Alliance’s 20-game regular season kicks off on the road when the team takes on the Bandits in Vancouver on May 23 at 10:00 PM. The Alliance will paly its first home game on May 30 against the Edmonton Stingers. Fans can purchase tickets for as little as $20 at www.alliancemontreal.ca/en-ca/tickets.
