Biniam Ghebrekidan and Djibril Ngom Join Coaching Staff for 2024 Season

Ryan Thorne assumes head coaching duties until the arrival of Derrick Alston Sr.

The Montréal Alliance is pleased to announce the addition of assistant coaches Biniam Ghebrekidan and Djibril Ngom to its coaching staff for the 2024 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The Alliance also announces that head coach Derrick Alston Sr. as well as assistant coaches Charles Dubé-Brais and Jeff Dosado will be absent for the beginning of the season as they fulfill their coaching responsbilities with their current teams, which are competing in the playoffs. We wish Coach Alston Sr. as well as Dubé-Brais and Dosado the best of luck in their playoff endeavors.


In Alston Sr.'s absence, the Montréal Alliance will be under the capable leadership of Assistant Coach Ryan Thorne. Thorne will assume all head coaching duties and responsibilities until Coach Alston Sr. is able to join the team.


The Montréal Alliance’s 20-game regular season kicks off on the road when the team takes on the Bandits in Vancouver on May 23 at 10:00 PM. The Alliance will paly its first home game on May 30 against the Edmonton Stingers. Fans can purchase tickets for as little as $20 at www.alliancemontreal.ca/en-ca/tickets.
