June 24, 2024

The Montréal Alliance announced Monday that Ismaël Diouf, the team’s first overall pick in the 2024 CEBL Draft, will be joining the NC State Wolfpack immediately for the upcoming NCAA Division I men’s basketball season. This opportunity marks a major milestone in Diouf’s basketball career and underscores the development opportunities provided by the Alliance and the CEBL.

Diouf, a native of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, was recently named the Final 8 Tournament MVP after leading Laval University’s Rouge et Or to a national championship victory, averaging 14.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 33.8 minutes per game. Diouf was also recognized as a standout player in his freshman season, being named to the RSEQ Rookie All-Star Team in 2022-23.

“Ismaël’s development has been a testament to his hard work and determination,” said Joel Anthony, General Manager of the Alliance. “He has an exceptional future ahead of him, and we are excited to see him take this next step to NC State, where we are confident he will continue to thrive.”

In addition to his on-court achievements, Diouf has made a notable impact within the Montréal Alliance organization and the local community. His dedication and work ethic have set a high standard for his peers and have resonated with fans.

“Ismaël’s move to NC State is a proud moment for our organization,” said Alliance President Annie Larouche. “His success reflects the high standards and commitment to development we uphold at the Alliance. Ismaël has made a significant impact both on and off the court, and we know he will continue to excel and inspire.”

Diouf himself expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to grow with the Alliance. “I am incredibly thankful to have been a part of the Montréal Alliance. The support and encouragement from my coaches, teammates, and fans have been invaluable. I look forward to this next chapter at NC State and will carry the lessons I’ve learned here with me.”

The Montréal Alliance is confident that Diouf will continue to excel at NC State and wishes him the best as he embarks on his new journey. The organization remains committed to supporting its players in their personal and professional development, both on and off the court.
